Rick's Story

Life Well, I posted my work bio...so as far as family goes...I married when I was 23 to a girl named Syndie with 2 wonderful kids (Tommy and Brooke). Tommy is now 23 and Brooke is 18. I'm going through a seperation now, Tommy is going to Alabama State University, and Brooke is going to be a senior at West Linn High next year. My dad and his wife still lives in the same house where I grew up. I now live in West Linn (near Oregon City). I spend most of my off work time now hanging with Brooke, my friends, working around the yard, feeding my Koi, and as much time as I can traveling and hiking finding those awesome landscapes to take pictures of...and I try to fit in golf and working out whenever possible. I weighed only 117 lbs when I graduated, now I weigh approximately 167. 40lbs of that is probably chewing gum and red meet, lol ;). OK...seriously I could stand to lose about 15 lbs right now, but good news! I think my hair has finally stopped sliding back towards my neck...but the jury's still out on that one! Workplace My first Job was working in the Electric Palace in the Mall. I worked there for 5 years, the last 2 as manager. D...Expand for more
uring those 2 years I also went to UCC and then also worked at PB Claytons as a DJ and cocktail waiter. Knowing that I did not want to make that a career and certainly Roseburg Lumber was not for me, I moved up near Portland when I was 22 ish. I started working at the cable company in Beaverton as an auditor (really just a cable cop). I worked there for almost 10 years. After the first 3, I moved into the office designing and drafting the cable plant for new neighborhoods, on the computer. I went to Heald College and learned about networks and servers, and became the company's computer guy. I quit there after they wouldn't show me the money, and went to work for Telephone and TV company where I've been for the last 6-7 years. After being there a year, I moved again into management, overseeing the company's entire network including building a cable modem network, DSL network, installing servers, routers, and workstations, billing systems, and pretty much anything that has to do with computers. I'm about to be given the title of CTO (Chief Technical Officer). It sounds pretty good, but it's a small company and it really just means more work.
